Career Direction

A few questions for teens:

  • Where are you headed?
  • Are you prepared for the future?
  • Are you prepared for YOUR future? If you don’t prepare for it, who will?

Finding “direction” is critically important for our young people. This goes way beyond choosing classes, and knowing what you want to be when you grow up. When we talk about “direction”, we are talking about laying the foundation for your life, starting now. The concept of ‘go to college and figure it out’, does not work anymore and MUST be changed. Lives depend on it - literally. There is a great deal of pressure on our kids today, pressure to succeed, fit in, look a certain way, be a part of the crowd. It makes it tough for them to learn about themselves as a individual, and can create a great deal of anxiety and frustration.

This is a process of self-discovery, establishing individuality and personal identity, and developing skills for the future.

Take some advice from a special cat- If you don’t know where you’re going, it doesn’t matter the road you choose.
